Behavioral Science

Behavioural Science is an essential component of McMaster Family Medicine.  Family Medicine residents meet every Wednesday afternoon from 1:30 until 4:30pm through their two year program for Behavioural Science sessions.  These will be interactive small group learning sessions emphasizing the four principles of Family Medicine. In addition four large group sessions per year will be held in Hamilton for all Family Medicine residents.

During the Behavioural Sciences tutorials residents learn by presenting audiovisual tapes of patient encounters, role-plays, case discussions or topic presentations. Tutorials are under the guidance of a psychiatrist, family doctor, and social worker.
