4 months of Family Medicine

2 months of Rural/Small Community Medicine

1 month of Ambulatory Geriatrics
Also in the second year there are Elective/Selective Rotations:

2 months internal medicine/surgery selective (includes palliative care, oncology, ICU, CCU)

1 month selective (to be done in one of the major disciplines of FM or their subspecialty areas

2 months elective
There is a new option for integrating family medicine/electives/rural experience in the second year.
Throughout the 2 years the resident will have weekly Academic Half Days Wednesday mornings tele-videoconferenced to McMaster, Problem based learning group sessions/Internal Medicine Rounds alternating each Wednesday lunch hour and Behavioral Science each Wednesday afternoon at Brampton Civic Hospital. They will also experience Evidenced Based Medicine every other Monday morning at BCH and their Quality Assurance project development. The residents will have 4 Multi-Disciplinary Academic days (MAD) on 4 Wednesday afternoons throughout the year.
