The Family Medicine Teaching Centre is associated with the Family Medicine program at McMaster University.
Most rotations in the 2 year program will take place in the William Osler Health Services hospitals in Brampton, Etobicoke or The Georgetown Hospital. Those who wish to conduct their Family Medicine Residency training in the Brampton/Etobicoke/Rexdale/Georgetown areas, are invited to apply to this stream. Information about applying to this program for IMG’s and CMG’s can be found at the following linked sites:

Can I apply to more than 1-stream of Family Medicine at McMaster – yes, you can apply to any of our FM streams

Do I need to write a personal letter for each stream I apply for - no; you will only need to write one personal letter, this letter would then be added to each stream the applicant applies to.  It is suggested that the applicants  focus the letter to the stream that they truly want to be matched to so that it can be directed to the appropriate letter scorers; the score from this letter will be transferred as well to all the streams they have applied to.

Can I submit my application to Family Medicine after the deadline has passed – no; all applications and documents must be in by the deadlines listed on the CaRMS website at

http://www.carms.ca/eng/r1_1stIteration_e.shtml

Can you review my Personal Letter and CV prior to the CaRMS interview, etc – no; this is not appropriate as there is a process in place that must be followed

Will I hear if I do or do not get invited for an interview – those that are selected for an interview will be notified; we do not notify those that are not

I did not get selected for an interview and would like to know why – Any such questions can be referred to :    sjohnso@mcmaster.ca    905-521-2100 ext. 76476

Questions pertaining to IMG's should be forwarded to Susan Vaughan at vaughs@mcmaster.ca
